Natalie Oppedal is our CEO and chief designer. Natalie has a Bachelors of Architecture with minors in global studies and art history. She works as an Architect in Iowa City where she promotes and attempts to incorporate sustainable principles in her designs. Natalie spent her many of her early years growing up in the woods in New Hampshire before moving to the St. Louis suburbs. Her parents and siblings still live in the St. Louis area.
Douglas Oppedal runs our operations side. He mainly does the growing, marketing and customer interaction. He has a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Springfield. He has a keen interest in environmental issues, nutrient cycling and microbiology as such he is responsible for much of Sifs Harvest direction towards sustainable agriculture. Douglas has lived all over the world including Germany, Guam, both coasts of the US and finally the Midwest. His parents and sibling can still be found in the St. Louis metro area.

Natalie and Douglas moved to Cedar Rapids in 2013/14. They were married in 2014 and bought the property that Sifs Harvest operates from in 2016. Since that time they have been slowly working on building the required infrastructure and growing beds while still maintaining 9-5 jobs.

A little background on our name: Sif is the golden haired norse goddess of earth and the harvest, she is married to Thor, norse god of thunder and the common man.
